The Dubai-based carrier launched a 72-hour Black Friday sale at midnight Friday and will initiate a 72-hour Cyber Monday sale one minute after the end of the Black Friday sale, offering special two-for-one round-trip airfares for travel from its 10 U.S. gateway cities. Sale destinations for the Black Friday sale include Milan (MXP), the Middle East and Africa from some of the carrier’s U.S. gateways while the Cyber Monday sale covers a number of destinations in Asia from different departure points.

Emirates flies to the U.A.E. from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Boston’s Logan International (BOS), San Francisco International (SFO), Los Angeles International (LAX), Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA), Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Washington’s Dulles International (IAD), Orlando International (MCO), and New York’s John. F. Kennedy International (JFK).

Passengers will be able to secure two-for-one fares in Economy class when booking for two passengers traveling together. Travel must be taken between January 9 through May 6, 2016.

“We are providing passengers traveling together with fare savings to some of the top destinations across our global network of over 140 destinations,” Rob Gurney, Emirates’ SVP for North America, said in a statement announcing the sale. The two-for-one fares are for travel to select destinations in Europe, the Far East, Africa and the Middle East, and start at $1,099 for Economy class.

Special fare routes for the Black Friday sale include but are not limited to Dubai (DXB) starting from $1,249 for two, Johannesburg (JNB) starting from $1,749 for two, Singapore (SIN) starting from $1,649 for two and Milan (MXP) starting from $1,099 for two. Cyber Monday special two-for-one fares cover a number of destinations in Asia from different U.S. departure points including DFW, MCO, ORD and JFK.

Then there is Emirates’ renowned in-flight service from the airline’s multi-national cabin crew comprised of over 135 nationalities, which has earned the carrier accolades as one of the World’s Best Airlines, including the No. 5 slot in the 2015 World Airline awards.

While the sales are aimed at encouraging “[C]ustomers to consider holiday gifts and travel adventures with friends and family during the new year,” there can be some challenges in giving the gift of travel, as TheTravelPro detailed in a previous post, so plan carefully.
