Delta offers Seattle passengers opportunity to earn bonus miles

In advance of its shift to a revenue-based model for its SkyMiles® frequent flier program in 2015, Delta Air Lines is offering its frequent fliers the opportunity to bolster their account balances by earning double miles.

“Register today, then book and fly Delta (NYSE:DAL) or Delta Connection®-marketed and operated flights from Seattle (SEA) by December 31, 2014, and Delta will award SkyMiles members double miles and double Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) on the nonstop segment out of or into Seattle (SEA)," the airline said on its web page about the promotion, adding “The more you fly the more you earn—it's unlimited!”

In February, the Atlanta-based airline announced that, starting in 2015, SkyMiles members would accrue miles that could be redeemed for flights based on dollars spent rather than miles flown. The miles or segments flown will count toward Medallion levels – Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond – which will carry benefits including discounted or complimentary Economy Comfort seating, access to Delta’s Sky Clubs, bonus miles and other benefits. Full details are available on Delta’s website.

Delta offers nonstop service from SEA to six international destinations, with more to come, the airline said. Its planes offer direct aisle access flat-bed seats in BusinessElite® and up to four more inches of legroom in Economy Comfort™ in Economy Class.

This may be one of your last opportunities to pad your SkyMiles account balance before program changes take effect on the first of next year.
