We are beginning our second day in Zurich, having arrived at approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday after an overnight flight from New York City.
It's cool and rainy, so the photographs will be snapshots as opposed to artistic, but the city still offers some very nice scenery. Unfortunately, I cannot upload photos from the hotel computer, so they will come later.
We are staying at the Hotel Schweizerhof, which is right across the street from the main train station and on several tram lines. We've seen some wonderful churches, the Altstadt (Old Town), sipped some good, strong coffee and had a nice chat with a local who has wintered in Florida for the past 40 years, and have eaten some great bratwurst from little street-side stands.
Zurich can be expensive, but "going where the locals go" is a great way to get the true flavor of the place -- and save some money at the same time.
More to come!
