A foreshadowing of things to come?

I spotted this sign during a recent stay at a Hampton Inn in Denver:

It caused me to wonder: Is this simply poorly worded Marketing collateral, or it is a harbinger of things to come?

Many industries have become infamous for nickel-and-dime charges. While the airline industry leads this dubious pack, the hotel industry has been criticized by many -- including both the Biden and Obama Administrations -- for such charges as "resort fees" which are often a disingenuous way of raising more revenue while appearing to offer lower nightly rates.

So this sign made me ask the question: Are hotels planning to start charging for housekeeping services? I can envision the industry charging for cleanings requested during a guest's stay, and including only the final cleaning when a guest checks out.

I hope I'm wrong.  Time will tell.
