Rock me on the water: Rock Legends Cruise finalizes artist line-up

Attention, Baby Boomers! The artists’ line-up has been finalized for the sixth annual Rock Legends Cruise, which departs from Ft. Lauderdale on Feb. 15, 2018.

Sure, there are jazz cruises, blues cruises, and others but the Rock Legends Cruises, now in their sixth year, boast of being the first rock cruise at sea.

The latest addition to the upcoming RLC VI is the legendary Todd Rundgren, whose most famous songs may be his 1970 hit, “We Gotta Get You a Woman,” and the 1972 recording, “I Saw the Light in Your Eyes.” Rundgren joins musical heavyweights including Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar, Bad Company, John Kay & Steppenwolf, Blue Öyster Cult and several other notable acts.

The four-night, five-day itinerary includes more than 60 concerts, artists’ “meet & greets,” question and answer sessions, acoustic sets, a "Sammy's Beach Bar Rum" tiki bar, and more. In addition, Hagar plans to capture the event for his television show, "Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar" which airs on AXS TV.

While the 2018 show is already sold out, tickets for the seventh annual Rock Legends Cruise, which departs on Feb. 14, 2019, go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 3. RCL VII will rock some breathtaking new waters as it sails from Fort Lauderdale along the Caribbean coast of Mexico's eastern Yucatán Peninsula and ports in Costa Maya, Mexico.

The cruise was created by the Native American Heritage Association, which is celebrating its 23rd year working on reservations in South Dakota.

Since its maiden voyage in 2011, the Rock Legends Cruise has hosted some of the biggest names in classic rock and become a red-letter event for nearly 4,000 passionate music fans, many who now make it an annual event, creating a sell-out months in advance.
