My take

I have long been a fan of Omni Hotels. Although I do not have the opportunity to stay at them as often as I would like, the treatment I have received when I have stayed has been consistently excellent across properties from the West Coast to the East Coast, and smack in the middle in Texas.

Desert vacations during the summer, however, are not for the faint of heart.

Cortijo Plaza
During June, flights were halted at PHX because high temperatures exceeded the maximum temperature allowed for legal flight operations. Granted, this year is unusual, but even average daytime highs during July, August and September are hot: 104, 102 and 97 degrees, respectively.

Still, the desert displays its own unique beauty and, if that appeals, then the deal offered by the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia might be just the thing.
