Upmarket Belize hotel offers anniversary bargains

The San Ignacio Resort Hotel in San Ignacio, Belize, is celebrating its 40th anniversary as a family owned property by offering guests the opportunity to experience its newest luxury accommodations at a 30 percent discount through the end of June.

Opened in September 1976 by local businessman Escandar Bedran, the hotel has been accorded numerous honors over the years, including being chosen as the venue for hosting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in February 1994.

The intimate 24-room deluxe hotel showcases a contemporary and Mediterranean style lobby with marble columns and floors along with an exotic hardwood staircase. The resort has recently undergone a major remodeling which included a new air-conditioned Baroque themed Lobby Bar, a formal dining room, and an extended outdoor seating area.
