Qatar Airways unveils upgraded Business Class

Doha-headquartered Qatar Airways unveiled upgrades to its Business Class that include private business class suites and seats that convert into a double bed in the sky.

The airline introduced the new “Business Class Experience” and associated amenities at ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism trade fair.

Available Business Class suite
The centerpiece of the new Business Class is the Business Class QSuite which features patented seating that can be transformed into the industry’s first double bed available in Business Class.

It also features adjustable panels and movable TV monitors that allow colleagues, friends or families traveling together to transform their space into a private suite.

“This new product offering – an unrivalled enhancement of our already award-winning Business Class cabin – will absolutely challenge industry norms and expectations,” His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group CEO said at the unveiling.

“This is truly the future of Premium travel,” he added, noting that the QSuites, with seats that feature hand-stitched Italian leather and satin rose gold finishing, will provide Business Class travelers with a First Class experience.

In addition to the patented seat design and configurable suite, Qatar’s Business Class upgrade includes new, luxury amenity kits, designer sleepwear, refined china and cutlery service and re-envisaged menu.

Industry's first double bed in Business Class
The QSuites will be retrofitted onto the existing Qatar Airways fleet starting from June, at an estimated rate of one aircraft a month.

Known for pioneering industry firsts, Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the State of Qatar, and is one of the fastest growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of 194 aircraft flying to more than 150 key business and leisure destinations across six continents.

The airline was named the World’s Best Business Class and No. 2 of the World’s 100 Best Airlines by Skytrax in 2016, and its home hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH) was also recently honored with five stars at the Skytrax World Airport Awards.
