The European-themed Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, Colo., is offering guests the opportunity to experience its hospitality this fall at a bargain rate.
Renowned for its gemütlichkeit, which translates as coziness, snugness and friendliness, the property earned top honors in Travel + Leisure’s 2016 World’s Best Awards. To entice both new and returning guests, it is offering a “Fall into Sonnenalp Hotel Package” for stays between Oct. 2 and Nov. 17, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the property and its hospitality without the crowds that come with both the winter and summer high seasons.
The package includes a 20 percent discount off standard room rates, a reduced rate of $22 for valet parking, 25 percent off all services in the Sonnenalp Spa, two complimentary five-minute oxygen bar sessions at the spa and reduced greens fees at the Sonnenalp Golf Club.
Accommodations range from standard rooms to junior suites, one and two-bedroom suites to a four-bedroom penthouse featuring an infinity swimming and whirlpool, a massaging tub in the master bedroom, granite slab countertops and private underground heated parking.
The facility also has two, three and four-bedroom residences for stays of seven nights or longer. Rates are dependent on room category, dates and availability.
The property features four on-site restaurants, including Ludwig’s, which offers a bountiful European style buffet served on a beautiful glass enclosed terrace. Bully Ranch offers lunch and dinner in a casual, western-style atmosphere with offerings including chicken wings, burgers, fish and chips, steaks and salads. Bully Ranch also offers a dog-friendly patio for those traveling with their furry friends.
Dinners of traditional European cuisine are served at Swiss Chalet and include Käse Spätzle – homemade dumplings topped with cheese and crispy onions – and Swiss fondue. Guests can wind up the evening in front of a roaring fire at King’s Club. The venue, which is open daily from 5 to 11 p.m., offers live entertainment starting at 8 o’clock on Wednesday through Saturday nights.
A wide variety of activities can be arranged by the hotel’s concierge including hiking trips into the Rockies, horseback riding, a stand-up paddleboard float trip with a riverside lunch, and more. The property also offers a kids’ club with structured activities and adventures under adult supervision. The Sonnenalp Kids Club is complimentary and open to children from ages 3 through 12.
