Political junkies or party-goers can buy out an entire Washington, D.C. hotel for the presidential inaugural
The upmarket hotel The Graham Georgetown is offering its entire facility - including its sleeping rooms and suites, rooftop lounge, Alex restaurant and a range of luxury amenities - as a package for the weekend of the 2017 presidential Inauguration.
A complete buy-out for the inauguration weekend, from Jan. 19 through Jan. 22, will set you back $200,000, or about $2,000 per person for you and 99 of your closest friends (presuming double occupancy). But the hotel is offering a range of upscale amenities in addition to mere accommodations – as well as the opportunity to be “on the ground” for the inauguration of the 45th U.S. president.
The package includes overnight accommodations in 20 luxury guestrooms and 30 one-bedroom suites, with arrival on Thursday, Jan. 19 and a late checkout on Sunday, Jan. 22.
It also includes a breakfast buffet Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the hotel lobby, with each featuring a unique daily breakfast selection.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, guests will be treated to a reception buffet accompanied by a live jazz trio in Alex, the hotel’s craft cocktail cellar & speakeasy. Alternatively, the hotel will hold open bar parties at the Observatory Rooftop lounge on Thursday and Friday, providing two different venues where guests can either toast their winner or mourn their candidate’s loss.
The Observatory Lounge will also be the site of the Saturday night after-after party with a raw bar extravaganza, a “vodka luge” where party-goers can take chilled vodka shots (use your imagination!), nibble caviar and sip champagne.
For the heartiest, there will also be a Midnight Monument tour on luxury mini-motor coaches with – you guessed it – even more champagne and snacks.
On the final day, festivities will include a champagne brunch at The Observatory.
The package also includes the use of two luxury house sedans throughout the weekend, as well as an inaugural-themed turn-down gift in each room, each night.
The offer of the buyout ends on Nov. 10 so, in theory, one could wait to see if their candidate wins the Nov. 8 election, but why chance it? Either way, this inauguration is going to be historic.
