Gogo to raise prices of monthly passes; offers Smartphone day pass

In-flight Internet provider Gogo will raise the prices of its Traveler Pass and Unlimited Pass by $10 per month effective April 7, TheTravelPro has confirmed.

The price of The Traveler Pass, a monthly subscription pass for a specific airline, will go from $39.95 per month to $49.95. The price of the Gogo Unlimited pass, a monthly subscription pass that allows the use of Gogo on any Gogo-equipped airline, will go from $49.95 per month to $59.95.

Gogo has also introduced a special day rate for travelers who use Smartphones and the iPod Touch.

The Smartphone Day Pass offers users of those devices 24 hours of continuous Gogo access on the same airline for $8. As of this writing, the Smartphone day pass is only accessible from the Gogo home page ads on the landing page at www.gogoair.com, shown at left. (Click on the image to view in a larger size). The product is not currently listed with the other products on the “pricing” page.

A day pass is also available for those who use other devices, including laptops. The Gogo All-Day Pass is $14 as of this mid-March post.

Both day passes are good on any Gogo-equipped flight on the same airline and expire one year after purchase if not used, so it may be worth buying several to lock in the price.

Gogo is available on select aircraft operated by Air Canada, AirTran, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Frontier Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Virgin American.
