Shortly after reaching out to Starwood about the absence of Bibles in the rooms at the Westin Washington DC City Center, I received a response.
This reply came from customer service rep Claudine Hunter:
I have spoken with the hotel regarding your question about bibles in the room. They have advised the when they became a Westin they chose to remove the bibles from the room and they are available upon request and is in not a chain wide policy. The The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center is franchised and not owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Kudos to Claudine and Starwood for such a prompt response. I'm glad it's not a chain-wide policy, happy to hear they still have Bibles available, but continue to believe it would be a good idea to include room cards to that effect.
