Qatar Airways wins (more) global recognition

Doha-headquartered Qatar Airways has added three new noteworthy awards to its growing collection of accolades, thanks to recent recognition by Global Traveller Magazine.

Readers of the publication, who are primarily luxury business travelers, voted Qatar Airways the Best Airline for International First Class, Best First Class Seat Design, and, for the third time, Best Airline in the Middle East in the 13th annual Global traveler Awards.

Airline executives were understandably pleased by the praises of their passengers.

“Qatar Airways takes pride in the many awards bestowed upon us and to win recognition from passengers who are familiar with the ins and outs of international travel, is especially rewarding,” Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, said in a statement announcing the awards. “Providing the world’s best Premium Class travel continues to be our goal.”

Qatar Airways' First Class cabin features eight suites on the upper deck of the Airbus A380 in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each seat features a 90-inch pitch with a fully lie-flat bed, 26-inch HD in-flight entertainment screen and direct aisle access. The First Class cabin also offers features exclusive spa-inspired bathrooms with luxurious amenities to enhance passenger comfort.

Similarly, Qatar Airways’ Business Class continues to receive recognition from international audiences. Its Business Class service was named “World’s Best Business Class” in the 2016 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards and was named “Best Business Class” by Business Traveler Awards.

The carrier has also been awarded “Airline with the Best Business Class Service in the World” and “Best Airline in the Middle East” from Business Traveler USA. In addition, Travel Weekly conferred a Gold Award on the airline’s International Business Class experience on the Airbus A350 aircraft.

“The airline is constantly innovating and raising their standards of service, going above and beyond to provide luxury experiences for travelers that differ from other airlines,” airline officials said.
